At least you could live within your means. Now, you can't throw up a shack...they would rather you be homeless rather than have SOME dignity and independence. My grandfather's house burnet to the ground in 1934, the neighbors all came and helped build a tarpaper shack. My father said he loved rolling out of bed to the breakfast table. My grandfather went on to become a prosperous farmer and did much for his community. Now days, he would have been put in a homeless shelter and told he was a bad person! America is fucked up now.
Ironic that no one has tried to invade France nor round up a certain religious group to send them to gas chambers since France developed nuclear weapons.....
